Assuming the new Star Trek films continue I’d really like them to bring in Nurse Chapel. She was mentioned in Into Darkness but I actually want to see her. Always nice to have more women and she was a great character(as was Janice Rand)

StarTrek.com has made every episode available for streaming on their website! (and there doesn’t seem to be any indication that its only temporary!)

I’m really happy about this! They used to only have TOS and a bit of Enterprise. Finally, I have a chance to catch up with TNG!

CBS.com also has all of TOS and the Animated series on their site and Hulu has the first season of each show for free and the other seasons as part of their pay service.
As Andy pointed out, this was probably to help save the camera op from having to pull focus. If you look at a lot of other clips of characters sitting down, they awkwardly try to sit without moving the chair (meaning that they always hit their mark on every day, without causing delays for focus caused by not moving the chair back to the correct spot). Frakes, though, found a silly but stylishly character-appropriate way to do it.
That is so strange. How did I never notice this?
